Anyone who creates or commissions content for our websites must make it accessible. This includes:
- public websites, like www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk
- internal websites, like our intranet and SharePoint
- websites we pay a supplier to run
Accessible content means everyone can find, read and use our information easily, including people using assistive technologies. It also helps the council meet UK accessibility regulations.
Where to start
- If you are new to accessibility, begin with What accessible content is, then follow the subject-specific guides
- If you are familiar with accessibility, go straight to the guide for the content type you need
For general advice on planning, writing and managing council website content, read our Content design guide.
