How to make video and audio accessible
Make video and audio content accessible so everyone, including people with disabilities, can access the same information online.
Use this guidance if you:
- create, edit, publish or manage video or audio content
- work with suppliers or partners to produce content
This applies to videos and audio used on our webpages and social media.
Accessible video and audio content:
- includes captions and audio descriptions for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired
- works with assistive technologies, such as screen readers
- adapts to desktop, mobile and older or slower devices
- improves clarity and usability for all users and is easier for AI and automated tools to process
- helps meet legal and accessibility requirements
