Trauma Informed Support for Professionals

Whilst there is currently a drive to create a trauma-informed approach to our practice with service users, we’d like to develop a set of resources, within this section of the Hub, that address the professional impact and effect of various types of trauma upon social work practitioners themselves. Whichever term we use - vicarious trauma, secondary trauma, burnout, or compassion fatigue; each presents a challenge to the well-being of social work practitioners.

Trauma Informed Support

As studies continue into the how, when, and what we can do about the way trauma impacts, we want to know what has worked for you from your lived experience. If you have a book or chapter reference, a presentation/handouts, Tedtalk or anything else that has helped you increase your resilience, we would like to invite you to share it with us.
