In 2018, the Secretary of Transport announced that £18m of funding would be allocated to the Council for a major scheme to improve the road network along the A614 and A6097 corridor between Ollerton and Lowdham.
Why are we upgrading the A614/A6097 Corridor?
The scheme will support planned housing developments along the route in Bilsthorpe, Ollerton and Blidworth, reduce peak period traffic congestion for the benefit of commuters and local businesses and improve road safety for all users.
In July 2019, Nottinghamshire County Council and Via East Midlands held six consultation events showcasing proposals for the A614/A6097 which included junction improvements to:
- Ollerton Roundabout
- Mickledale Lane junction, Bilsthorpe
- Deerdale Lane junction, Bilsthorpe
- Warren Hill
- White Post Roundabout
- Lowdham Roundabout
Whilst there was significant support for the measures proposed at Ollerton and Bilsthorpe, the Lowdham roundabout design option was not well received. After reviewing the numerous responses and considering feedback, Via East Midlands Ltd, in partnership with the County Council, has been working to redesign the junction layout at the A612/A6097 Lowdham Roundabout.
In addition, following feedback, new proposals have been included to improve the A6097/Kirk Hill traffic signal junction at East Bridgford. A6097BridgfordStreet
Have your say - consultation open 2-22 November 2020
We would now like to hear your views on the two updated proposals. As we are unable to host public events due to Covid-19, we have set up virtual consultation rooms where you can access the revised proposals, information boards and scheme drawings, and provide your comments online. The virtual consultation rooms will be available from 2-22 November 2020.
