Staff Networks
We are pleased to have four established colleague networks.
We believe that good networks should provide a safe space for discussion of issues, help to raise awareness of issues within the wider organisation, provide support for individual staff and offer a collective voice to communicate with management.
This group aims to provide:
- a unique opportunity to network with other Black, Asian and Ethnic minority employees working across the Council
- sharing the personal and professional experiences of other Black, Asian and Ethnic minority employees
- a focus and dedication to recruitment, retention and advancement of Black, Asian and Ethnic minority employees.

I have been part of the Black Workers Network for over 4 years and recently appointed Co-Chair of the Black Workers Network which I am really excited about!. The thing I enjoy most about my role as Co-Chair is meeting and working with different people throughout the organisation. - Amelia Oliver, Co-Chair of the Black Workers Network
Having only connected with the Black Workers Network since 2017, not long after I started working for NCC, I’m honoured to be elected as the network’s Co-Chair. What I love about my role is being able to help foster a culture of encouragement and support amongst our members; something I experienced when I first joined the Black Workers Network and has kept me invested to this day. - Andre Adams, Co-Chair of the Black Workers Network
This network is for employees at Nottinghamshire County Council who identify as having a disability. It aims to:
- support, help and offer guidance
- challenge discrimination in the workplace on the grounds of disability
- promote awareness of issues which affect people with disabilities.
- advise on making council services and policies more inclusive of people with disabilities.
