How to make video and audio accessible
Flashing video
Avoid flashing visuals in your video.
Flashing visuals, like footage of a strobe light or lightening can cause people to have seizures or feel dizzy, nauseous or disorientated.
If you still want to include flashes in your video, you must:
- make sure that there aren't more than three flashes per second
- keep flashes small and make sure they have low colour contrast with other content
This helps reduce risk to viewers. For example, a clip with a scene involving very bright lightning flashes is edited so that the lightning only flashes three times in any one second period.
