Torworth's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
11.00am until 6.00pm.
Retford Platinum Jubilee celebrations – Save the Date!
Retford Business Forum (RBF) is organising the Retford Town Centre Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Sunday 5th June 2022. The emphasis will be on people of all ages getting together to enjoy an afternoon of community and wellbeing. The plan is for a street party, from 12noon until 6pm, on the Market Square, if the weather is good (plan A) – if the weather is not favourable, the alternative plan (plan B) will take the event into Retford Town Hall.
Under plan A, there will be tables and chairs provided on the square for people to consume their own food and drink, or to purchase from the excellent restaurants, cafes and mobile food-stalls nearby. Entertainment will be provided by a local DJ, playing music for the whole family from the seven decades of the Queen’s reign. Local singer, Jessica Mary Brett will be providing live performances during the afternoon, as will members of the Worksop Salvation Army Brass Band.
There will also be entertainment on the square for our younger members from a face-painter, crown-making workshop, and a Punch & Judy show. In the Town Hall, there will be a memory-wall, provided by Bassetlaw Museum and craft stalls, some of which we hope will have Jubilee-themed gifts and souvenirs.
If plan B is needed, the tables and chairs will move to the Town Hall, as will all of the entertainment and the number of craft stalls will be reduced. Let’s hope we don’t need plan B and it is a sunny day!
RBF is still planning the details of the day with local organisations including Bassetlaw District Council (BDC), Royal British Legion, EES Showhire, Girlguiding Retford, The Grove, Bassetlaw Museum, BDC Markets, Retford Charter Trustees, and That Girl Communications – if any other organisations would like to join the task group, please contact chair@retfordbusinessforum.org.uk
RBF is very grateful for the support received from partners BDC, North Notts BID and the Retford Charter Trustees, without whom this event would not be possible.
Worksop Jubilee Celebration

The public will be invited to bring their own food and come together as a town. There will be Birds of Prey, fair rides and a 40 minute performance by a rock Choir, if there are any local groups who wish to provide some entertainment, they will be welcome to do so. The emergency services will again be invited to join us.
Bridge Street/Place and the Old Market Square will be decorated for the weekend.
