Parenting and family support
We understand that being a mum or dad is sometimes hard, so we want you to get in touch if you need some support, before little problems grow into bigger issues.
Our highly trained and caring staff are there to offer advice and guidance for any issues you may be concerned about, they can do this in the Family Hub, with you at home, over the telephone or at a community venue.
This could be linked to your child’s physical and emotional wellbeing, boundaries, behaviour and routines, keeping you and your child safe, supporting learning, help to increase your social networks or support and signposting around benefits or debt etc.
The Family Hub has been so welcoming to me and my foster children. The workers are fantastic with not only my children but all children. There is no judgement for the children's behaviour however 'creative' they are being.
Our staff can help support and guide you with all those everyday parenting challenges such as potty training, sleep problems and how to make trips out to the local shops something you and your child both look forward to, rather than dread. They can also guide you to more specialist support, if that’s needed.
We also offer a range of parenting courses, such as Incredible Years, 123 Magic, Solihull and EPEC Being a Parent, which give you tried and tested tips and tools to help you manage your child’s behaviour and family life.
I've done potty training, got things in place for behaviour and overall had a lot of support from the family support worker which has helped a lot.
If you are looking for support, information or guidance please contact your local family hub team.
