Parenting and family support

Family hub networks are soon being rolled out in Nottinghamshire. Children’s centre services will continue as normal while we make the changes. Find out more about our roll out of family hubs and what it means to you

At the Children’s Centre Service we understand that being a mum or dad is sometimes hard, so we want you to get in touch if you need some support, before little problems grow into bigger issues.

Our highly trained and caring staff are there to offer guidance on a one-to-one basis, for any issues you may be concerned about in your home, the Children’s Centre Service building, or in the community. This could be linked to your child’s physical and emotional wellbeing, boundaries, behaviour and routines, keeping you and your child safe, supporting learning, help to increase your social networks or support and signposting around benefits or debt etc.

The Children's Centre has been so welcoming to me and my foster children. The workers are fantastic with not only my children but all children. There is no judgement for the children's behaviour however 'creative' they are being.

Our staff can help support and guide you with all those everyday parenting challenges such as potty training, sleep problems and how to make trips out to the local shops something you and your child both look forward to, rather than dread.  They can also guide you to more specialist support, if that’s needed.

We also offer a range of parenting courses, such as Incredible Years, 123 Magic, Solihull and EPEC Being a Parent, which give you tried and tested tips and tools to help you manage your child’s behaviour and family life.

I've done potty training, got things in place for behaviour and overall had a lot of support from the family support worker which has helped a lot.

If you are looking for support, information or guidance and are unsure if the Children’s Centre Service can help then please just ask your local Children’s Centre Service Team or complete the Request for Service Form.
