If you have concerns about a child please consider calling us to discuss them. Speaking with us can help ensure the right support is provided as quickly as possible.

You can still fill out the online form, but please be aware we may need to call you back if we feel information is missing, which can cause some delay.

For any urgent concerns about a child that you believe require a social work response today, please call us on 0300 500 80 80 (if you are a member of the public) or 0300 500 80 90 (if you are a practitioner working with the child or family in a professional capacity).

If you are a practitioner and your concern relates to the neglect of a child please complete the neglect toolkit [Word] using the guidance [PDF] before making a referral. This is now required (as per the Neglect - Partnership Mandated Approach [PDF]) to ensure we understand a child's situation and to support multi-agency decision making with the family moving forwards. If you haven't completed it and your concern is not deemed to be an urgent concern, you will be asked to complete it.

Before referring, please consider whether support from the Family Service or your local Family Hub Network would be more appropriate.
