Skills and employment
We work closely with the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership to support business and employment growth and skills development.
Specific projects promote careers, employability and enterprise in schools, ensuring our young people are properly prepared for work, and enabling employers to access the skilled workers they need through apprenticeships, graduate recruitment, and the skills development of the existing and potential local workforce.
We work collaboratively with other public and private sector stakeholders through the Skills Commission, to develop a focused response which supports individuals to develop their skills and employability, gain, retain and enhance employment and earnings, and support business growth through focused training linked to local economic needs.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can get support and advice on starting and growing their business and skills development of their workforce.
