How much you may pay
Most people pay something towards their care. The amount depends on your savings:
- Over £23,250 – you usually pay the full cost (self-funder)
- £14,250 to £23,250 – you pay based on your income and savings
- Below £14,250 – you pay based on your income only

Tips for filling in the form:
- If you are part of a couple, add your savings together. The calculator will split them for you.
- If you have more than one account of the same type, combine the balances before entering them.
