Remembrance Day Piglet

A favourite during World War II and the early post-war years.



  • 1 baking potato
  • Turkey mince: 250 grams
  • Sage (fresh or dried): 5 grams
  • Seasoning salt and pepper
  • Cucumber or radish (for the ears) and cocktail sticks
  • Rocket / leaves for garnish


  1. Cut a core out of the centre of the potato and put the meat into it.
  2. Bake in the oven at 200c / 180f / gas mark 6 for about 1 hour.
  3. You can cut cucumber or radish into 1/4  place at top for ears.
