Activities and venues

There are plenty of fantastic activities happening across the county in 2024 as part of the Holiday Activities and Food Programme.  Programmes run in the following school holidays: Easter, summer, autumn and winter.

Family activity days

Family activity days are a wonderful way for the whole family to enjoy a day out together. The target age range is 5 to 16 years (SEND 18 years). Siblings can attend with an eligible child. 

Family days for 2024 are: 

Summer events will be open for booking early July 2024.

  • Fully booked, pending checks - Wednesday 7 August – The National Watersports Centre, Rushcliffe. 
  • Tuesday 13 August and Wednesday 14 August - Sherwood Forest 10am -12pm - Outlaw Adventures, Notts Outdoors Classroom Forest Corner Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, NG21 9RN. Visit Archery Adventures with Robin and Marian (cinolla.com) to book your place.
  • Available from Saturday 27 July - Monday 2 September - Adventures - high ropes.
    This will be a fun-filled day of adventure and healthy eating. Activities are led by highly experienced instructors, who are qualified to deliver adventure activities to the highest standard. Activities may include High Trek, Trek course, Net Park and Zip Lines. Visit Adventures - High Ropes (office.com) to book.
    • Please note that High Trek/Trek courses and Zip Lines are suitable for ages 7+.  Children ages 7-11-years-old require a participating adult to go on the course with them, children ages 12-17-years-old require a spectating adult.
    • The Net Park is suitable for ages 3+. Children aged between 3-4 years require a participating adult. Please note that some activities are not suitable for children under the age of 7 due to the nature of safety equipment, i.e. harnesses, etc.
    • All children are the responsibility and supervision of a parent or an adult over the age of 18.
