Outcomes

A whole system collaborative approach is important in protecting the health of the population.

Across Nottinghamshire, strategic leadership is provided by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), NHS England (NHSE) and Nottinghamshire County and Nottingham City Councils.  These agencies work with NHS primary, community and secondary care providers to ensure the best outcomes for the local population. Closely linked to this, borough and district councils provide the lead on environmental health.

The performance of the local system is summarised in the Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF). The health protection PHOF indicators show that Nottinghamshire generally performs above the regional and national averages across the majority of domains. However, in common with most areas of the country, there has been a decreasing trend in vaccination coverage, especially since the pandemic.
