Care charges calculator
Estimate how much you may need to pay for care and support at home by entering your income and savings.
This calculator gives an estimate only. Your actual care charges are confirmed after a care and support assessment and a financial assessment.
If you are thinking about moving into a care home, read Paying for a care home.
How much you may pay
Most people pay something for their care. How much you may need to pay depends on your savings and income.
- Over £23,250 – you usually pay the full cost (self-funder)
- £14,250 to £23,250 – you pay based on your income and savings
- Below £14,250 – you pay based on your income only
In some cases, you may not need to pay. Contact Customer Services to check if this applies to you.
