About this course
What are the aims of the course?
Is doing craftwork something you enjoy?
This fun and relaxed course aims to support and build your confidence. Perhaps you would like to help a child or grandchild with their learning, or create something that can be used this Christmas? During the course you will pick up ideas to take home and replicate with others.
What will be covered on the course?
We will be making:-
- Making small boxes of different shapes
- Making 3D Christmas tree and table top decorations
- Making Christmas crackers
- Making other decorations using seasonal items
What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
- Making home-made, personalised, seasonal decorations
- Used a variety of shapes and other mathematical approaches to form your creations, including shapes, measuring, angles and 3 dimensional objects.
- Grown confidence in using maths for everyday activities
What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?
- Ability to measure, draw lines using a ruler and cut out along marked lines. Knowledge of using a protractor might be useful – not a problem if not.
- This course is for adults who don’t have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above). You will self-declare this on the enrolment form
Will the learner receive anything for free for attending?
- Learners are welcome to take home what they create
Resources required:-
- Pen, pencil, ruler, eraser, note paper and scissors.
- If parents have compass, set square and protractor, this will be useful to bring along.
