Blue badge application further information required

Please check your SMS to see which of the actions listed below you need to take.

You applied for a Blue Badge under an automatic qualifying benefit (Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance). A badge can only be issued until the end date of the relevant benefit award. Your current award expires on the same date as your current Blue Badge, so it cannot be used for a new badge.

You have two options:

  1. Send your new award letter to us once your reassessment has been completed. You won't have a Blue Badge during this period. This letter should include the start and end dates of your new award or state that your award is indefinite/ongoing. It must be dated within the last 12 months.

  1. Apply in full online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge under the ‘subject to further assessment’ option. This allows you to explain your medical conditions and how they affect your daily life. To reach this part of the application quickly, choose ‘none of these benefits’ when asked about benefits, and then answer the next questions based on your personal circumstances. All badges under this route are issued for 3 years if the application is successful.

We have been unable to verify your sight registration on our records.

If you are not registered as Severely Sight Impaired (blind), you’ll need to apply in full online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge.

When asked “Are you severely sight impaired (blind)?”, select No, then continue answering the rest of the questions based on your personal situation.

This will put your application under ‘subject to further assessment’, giving you the chance to explain your medical conditions and how they affect your daily life.

You applied for a Blue Badge under an automatic qualifying benefit, but we couldn't verify your award with the Department for Work and Pensions.

This letter should include the start and end dates of your award or state that your award is indefinite/ongoing. It must be dated within the last 12 months.

If you don't have this letter, please contact the Department for Work and Pensions to get a copy.

If you don't receive an automatic qualifying benefit, you'll need to apply in full online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge under the 'subject to further assessment' option.

This lets you explain your medical conditions and how they affect your daily life. To do this quickly, choose 'none of these benefits' when asked about benefits, and then answer the next questions based on your personal circumstances.

We have received some documents from you that might be related to a Blue Badge application. However, we couldn't find a completed application form to match these documents.

To proceed, please apply online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge so we can assess your eligibility for a Blue Badge.

You have submitted a second application under the automatic criteria for a Blue Badge which we have already identified you do not qualify for.

You need to apply in full online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge under the ‘subject to further assessment’ option. This allows you to explain your medical conditions and how they affect your daily life.

To reach this part of the application quickly, choose ‘none of these benefits’ when asked about benefits, and then answer the next questions based on your personal circumstances.

We will not correspond in relation to any additional applications submitted under automatically eligible without proof of eligibility being supplied.

Since you do not meet the automatic criteria under the Higher Rate Mobility of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the 'Moving Around' section of your Personal Independence Payment (PIP), or the 'Planning & Following a Journey' section of your PIP, you do not automatically qualify for a Blue Badge.

To continue with your application, you can apply in full online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge under the ‘subject to further assessment’ option. This allows you to explain your medical conditions and how they affect your daily life.

To reach this part of the application quickly, choose ‘none of these benefits’ when asked about benefits, and then answer the next questions based on your personal circumstances.

You applied for a Blue Badge under the Severely Sight Impaired (Blind) criteria. However, our records show that you are registered as Visually Impaired (Partially Sighted), which does not qualify for an automatic Blue Badge.

To continue with your application, you can apply in full online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge. When the form asks why you are applying, choose "I have difficulty walking" or a similar option. This will place you in the "subject to further assessment" category, giving you the chance to explain your medical conditions and how they affect you.

As you are not in receipt of War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement, you do not qualify automatically for a Blue Badge.

Please apply in full online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge under the ‘subject to further assessment’ option. This allows you to explain your medical conditions and how they affect your daily life.

We no longer accept paper application forms for the Blue Badge service. A copy of your paper application form is included for your reference.

If you are not eligible for an SR1 and have applied under the terminal illness criteria by mistake, you can submit a new application online at www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge

When you’re asked, ‘Do you have a disability or condition that means you need a Blue Badge?’, choose:

‘Yes, I have a permanent disability or condition (expected not to improve for at least 3 years)’.

Then continue answering the questions based on your own circumstances.

This will place your application under ‘subject to further assessment’, which allows you to explain your medical conditions and how they affect your daily life.
