The Nottinghamshire County Council (Edingley Footpath No. 1 and Kirklington Footpath No. 14 ) Modification Order 2026

On the 27th of May 2026 the Nottinghamshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. 

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the above Area by: adding part of Edingley Footpath No.1 commencing from a point, SK 6740 5663, at the junction with the remainder of Edingley Footpath No.1, at a pedestrian gate on the northern boundary of the Southwell Trail and proceeding in a generally northerly direction for a distance of approximately 40 metres to the parish boundary at SK 6740 5667 at the junction with Kirklington Footpath No.14 and; then adding a footpath commencing from a point, SK 6740 5667, at the junction with Edingley Footpath No.1, at the parish boundary and proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 497 metres to a point SK 6752 5715 at the junction with Southwell Road, as described in the Order and shown on the order map.

The Order came into force on Wednesday 27th May 2026, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or any provisions contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or on the grounds of any requirement
of the Act or of any regulations made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under Paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the Thursday 4th June 2026 make an application to the High Court.
