Babworth Footpath No. 9 and East Retford Footpath No. 6A Proposed Diversion

The County Council is considering a proposal for a diversion of a public footpath in the above-mentioned parishes.

The current route of the footpath which is proposed to be diverted starts in the parish of East Retford on Retford Golf Course at Point A, adjacent to where there is a gap in the railings of the railway, from where it proceeds in a south-westerly direction away from the surfaced track, passing alongside a teeing area and then through a copse to cross the parish boundary into Babworth and then enter the neighbouring farmer’s land and cross their field to the junction with a bridleway at Point B.

The proposed diversion to this footpath from point A continues along the surfaced track through a gap alongside the metal gate and then continues along the surfaced track to join the bridleway at Point C, as shown on the attached plan.

This diversion would be more convenient for the public as it is on a surfaced path and more convenient for the landowner as it facilitates better land management.
