Local Plans

Each district and borough in Nottinghamshire has a Local Plan that guides decisions on future development proposals and addresses the needs and opportunities of the area.

The Local Plan outlines key priorities such as housing, employment, and retail development, strategically identifying areas for growth to support a thriving local economy. It promotes sustainable development by directing investment to appropriate locations, enhancing infrastructure, and creating job opportunities. At the same time, it ensures the protection of the natural and built environment, balancing economic progress with environmental stewardship.

Each Local Plan contains policies that can be used to support completion of the Rapid Health Impact Assessment (HIA).
