Sherwood Forest Trust Woodland Festival
Join us for a weekend of forestry fun in the beautiful grounds of the Walled Garden at the Thoresby Estate, on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June 2024.
Our outdoor festival celebrates woodlands and traditional woodland crafts. Visitors will be able to see the likes of green woodworkers, a coracle maker, have a go at kids eco art, listen to tree stories and even meet the Wild Man of The Woods. Whether you love local crafts, are a woodland wanderer or want an enjoyable family day out, this is the experience you’re looking for.
This summer, The Sherwood Forest Trust celebrates the 10-year anniversary of their Woodland Festival. With the past nine festivals being held in Sherwood Forest, the project has expanded and moved to the beautiful Walled Garden at Thoresby Park for the big anniversary this year. The Sherwood Forest Trust Woodland Festival is focused on re-telling the story of the forest and how it has supported Nottinghamshire communities throughout the ages, linking their daily lives with its produce and products.
It also looks to the future and the critical importance of trees and woodland for helping with climate change and biodiversity loss. The event is arguably more important now than ever before! This is a wonderful family-friendly day out, where visitors can engage with the natural world, learn skills and crafts from our local traders, and learn about local fauna and flora. The Woodland Festival is a fantastic event to generate community spirit and foster a sense of local pride and place.
Free entry, car parking charges apply.
