About this course

During this course we will discuss some of Sherwood’s great writers from the quirky to the quintessential. Learners will discover the legendary Sherwood Forest’s remarkable literary history and explore some of the locations within it that have inspired creativity.

Hear the stories behind the writers, poets and storytellers associated with Sherwood and discover new writing.

This course is suitable for anyone interested in literature and local history.  Open to people aged 19+.

In this informative course, each of the hour-long sessions will feature writers and their association with the legendary Sherwood Forest area.   You will leave with the knowledge of how Notts writers have shaped the world. There will be some opportunity for discussion about the writers and their work.

No prior knowledge or skills are necessary, just an interest in Nottinghamshire (especially the Sherwood Forest area) and local literature.

You may find a notebook and pen useful for taking notes.
