Request information about you or someone else
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act (2018) you have the right to know what information the Council holds about you. Requesting a copy of this information is commonly referred to as making a Subject Access Request (SAR).

This service is for
You can make a request for your own personal information.
You can request information about someone else providing that you:

have consent from the person concerned
-
are a registered Lasting Power of Attorney giving you authority to act on behalf of someone else

have parental responsibility if the person is under 18 years old
-
have a legal responsibility status for the person and/or their estate, if they have passed away
You will need
You will be prompted to upload files or photos of documents to the online request, which prove your right to access the information.
If you cannot upload the documents, you can still submit your request and send copies of the documents to us separately later.
We will not action a request until we have received all required evidence that you have a right to access the information.
What will happen next
Once we have confirmed your right to access the information we will respond to your request within the statutory timescale of one calendar month. In complex cases this can be extended by a further two months, but we will let you know if we need to do this.
