About this course
The Speech and Language Therapy team offer a range of training courses over the year, both online and in person.
This includes:
Talking Matters - FREE
This free course is aimed at practitioners who work with children under the age of 5.
Practitioners will learn about:
• The latest research into the importance of SLC.
• Typical stages of language development.
• How to identify and support children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
Communication for all - FREE
Communication for All is delivered over one session and is free of charge.
This fun and practical course:
• Teaches participants a small number of useful Makaton signs.
• Supports practitioners to understand how to use signs and symbols in their settings.
• Considers how physical environments impact on children's communication skills.
• Supports practitioners to audit environments and set actions to raise standards of practice.
Every Language Matters - FREE
This training session is designed to:
• increase your knowledge of bilingualism
• share the benefits of speaking more than one language
• help you to identify and support speech, language and communication needs in bilingual children
• give you opportunities to ask questions to our Therapists
