About this course

The Department for Education (DfE) has launched a free safeguarding training programme for all early years practitioners. The training, along with a range of supporting resources, is available through Virtual College.
Developed in partnership with NSPCC Learning, the safeguarding package offers practical guidance on creating and maintaining a strong culture of safeguarding within early years settings. It also includes useful information and resources on topics such as safer recruitment, domestic abuse, and relevant legislation.
The programme consists of five online training modules, followed by an assessment. Topics covered include:
•    Understanding safeguarding
•    Working in accordance with legislation and statutory guidance
•    Recognising signs of harm, abuse and neglect
•    Responding to and reporting safeguarding concerns
•    Promoting and embedding a culture of safeguarding

We are asking all practitioners to complete this e-learning programme or an alternative to meet the requirements of the EYFS Annex C before attending the Notts County Council ‘Safeguarding Referral Processes’ training course.
