Adult Deaf and Visual Impairment Service (ADVIS)

The Adult Deaf and Visual Impairment Service (ADVIS) provides specialist support for adults in Nottinghamshire with hearing loss, sight loss or combined sight and hearing loss.

We have specialist workers who understand the impact of sensory loss and can communicate using British Sign Language (BSL).

How we can help

We can:

  • provide information and advice about hearing loss, sight loss and deafblindness
  • provide specialist equipment to help with everyday activities
  • assess your rehabilitation, care and support needs

Carers, relatives and friends

We can support the people around you to better understand your sensory loss and how to support you.

If your carer has hearing loss, sight loss or deafblindness, we can advise on equipment that may help you communicate with each other.

Children and young people

Support is also available for children and young people under 18. Contact the customer service team for more information.
