Digital Opportunities Network Nottinghamshire (DONN)
The Digital Opportunities Network Nottinghamshire (DONN) is working to connect everyone and tackle digital exclusion across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
A lot of public services are moving to digital delivery, and access to the internet is becoming increasingly more important for everyday life. Many people in the county and city find it difficult to get online – we refer to this as digital exclusion.
There are a number of organisations in the county and city involved in supporting people who feel the impact of digital exclusion. Digital exclusion can be due to poor connectivity, infrastructure, lack of IT skills and training, or confidence. For some, the cost of getting online is unaffordable.
The purpose of the DONN is to connect everyone working on this challenge across Nottinghamshire and Nottingham city to:
- Strengthen collaboration across organisations supporting digital inclusion
- Share data and insight on who is digitally excluded and why
- Coordinate efforts to reduce duplication and overlapping services
- Amplify what works through sharing learning and best practice
- Provide opportunities for members to collaborate on a variety of themes and project
The network includes members from:
- local government
- NHS and social care providers
- Voluntary and community organisations
- Libraries and learning providers
- Community groups and charities
Joining the network is flexible and free. We welcome members who are committed to reducing digital exclusion, and anyone from frontline volunteers to service directors can join.
