About this course 

This course is an intermediate to sugar craft flower making. You will progress with familiar skills and learn new techniques using sugar florist paste to produce an Easter Arum/Calla Lilly flower the perfect edition to any Easter themed celebration cake. 

There are many varieties of colours including white, pink, yellow, green, red, burgundy, and even almost black. These beautiful flowers can also be produced for wedding cakes. 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?  

  • Produce the spadix for the Arum/Calla Lilly  
  • Produce the spathe adding texture and realism for the Arum/ Calla illy 
  • Produce the leaves for the Arum/Calla Lilly adding texture and realism  
  • Learn how to colour and dust the flower to add dimension  

Learners will have produced an Arum/Calla Lilly to enhance any Easter themed celebration cake or even a beautiful wedding cake.  

Resources required:

  • Floral paste by squires- white or colour of choice such as bitter lemon, pink, yellow, green, red, burgundy, or almost black.  
  • Arum/Calla Lilly Cutter and veiner 
  • Arum/ Calla Lilly Leaf Cutter and veiner  
  • 18–20-gauge wire 
  • Rolling pin 
  • Edible glue  
  • Edible tints- Aubergine, moss green, primrose yellow and dark green 
  • Yellow sugartex or sugar with yellow tint added     
  • Tweezers 
  • Ball tool  
  • Fine scissors  
  • Wire cutters  
  • Dresden tool or Cocktail stick   
  • Floral tape green  
  • Foam mat 
  • Paintbrushes  
  • Glaze- Optional
