Can batteries, vapes and electrical items go in the recycling bin? 

No. Batteries can cause fires in refuse collection vehicles and at the waste facilities they are delivered to which is dangerous and disruptive. Your District or Borough Council may collect them as a separate item at the kerbside, please check your local council for further details. If this is not the case please take them to your local Recycling Centre, or a collection point such as a supermarket. Remember to check for hidden batteries in items such as toys, toothbrushes, remote controls and watches.
