Frequently asked questions about the 33

Why are you making these changes to the 33?

Nottingham City Transport’s extension to the 11 replaces the 33 for most of its route meaning the 33 is no longer needed.  Because the 11 is a predominantly a commercial bus route, it offers better value to the council allowing us to make improvements to the 747 and 833.

Will the route stay the same?

No, there will be changes to the route of the new 11 service. Central Avenue will not be served and the service will run through Lady Bay towards Gamston Morrisons and then on to Cotgrave and Cropwell Bishop via the current route. After Cropwell Bishop, communities in Cropwell Butler, Upper Saxondale, Barnstone, Langar and Sutton cum Granby will not be served by the new 11 service.

How can I connect into West Bridgford now that the new route won’t serve Central Avenue?

Passengers travelling from Cropwell Bishop and Cotgrave who wish to travel towards Central Avenue will be able to connect onto Nottingham City Transport’s 6 service at Gamston Morrisons. A through ticket will be offered at no extra cost.

I live in a community which won’t be served by the new 11 service. What are my options now?

If you live in Cropwell Butler, Upper Saxondale, Langar, Barnstone or Sutton cum Granby, you can travel on the newly extended 833 service into Cropwell Bishop to transfer on to the 11. A through ticket will be available for this journey at no extra cost and the 833 will be timed to meet the 11 in Cropwell Bishop at the Church Street bus stop, near to St. Giles Church.

If you live in Upper Saxondale or Cropwell Butler, you can also use the newly extended 747 service to Radcliffe on Trent and travel on trentbarton’s Mainline towards West Bridgford and Nottingham city. A through ticket will not be offered for this journey.

What is a through ticket and how can I purchase one?

A through ticket means that you can travel on more than one specified service for the price of one ticket.

Passengers in Cropwell Bishop and Cotgrave who wish to travel towards Central Avenue will be able to connect onto Nottingham City Transport’s 6 service at Gamston Morrisons. A through ticket will be offered at no extra cost.

Passengers in Cropwell Butler, Upper Saxondale, Langar, Barnstone or Sutton cum Granby can travel on the 833 and the 11 with a through ticket at no extra cost.

How much will tickets on the 11 cost?

For information on tickets, visit the Nottingham City Transport website.

All single fares including through tickets are capped at £3 in line with the Government’s fare cap scheme.

How can I find out more about the new 11 service?

Nottingham City Transport will operate the service and they have a dedicated website page with more information, including route maps.

Visit the Nottingham City Transport 11 extension website page.

Frequently asked questions about the 833

Why are you extending the 833?

We have worked with Centrebus who operate the 833 to extend the route to include Upper Saxondale. This is because the current 33 service will be withdrawn and partially replaced with Nottingham City Transport’s new-look 11 service.

Passengers in Upper Saxondale will now have a new hourly connection into Bingham.

What will be different about the route?

Upper Saxondale will now be included, and the service will take a slightly different route into Bingham via Wychwood Road.

How easy will it be to connect onto the new 11 service?

We have worked with Centrebus who operate the service to make sure that the 833 is timed to meet the 11 in Cropwell Bishop at the Church Street bus stop, near to St. Giles Church. A through ticket will be available to travel on both services at no extra cost.

Can I buy a through ticket to use on NCT’s 6 service to Central Avenue?

No. A through ticket can be purchased on the 833 and 11 for travel into Cotgrave and onwards to Nottingham city via Gamston Morrisons and Lady Bay.

I want to travel into West Bridgford town centre, how can I do this?

To travel into West Bridgford town centre, you can board the 833 and the 11 using a through ticket and then alight at Gamston Morrisons to transfer onto NCT’s 6 service. You will need to purchase a separate ticket for this journey.

Frequently asked questions about the 747

What changes are being made to the 747?

The 747 is being extended to serve Gunthorpe, Shelford, Radcliffe on Trent, Upper Saxondale, Cropwell Butler and Cropwell Bishop.

Why are changes being made?

We are making changes to the timetable of the 747 to allow for better connections on to Nottingham City Transport’s Pathfinder 26 service.

The route has been extended due to the withdrawal of the current 33 service to make sure that communities not served by NCT’s new look 11, which is operating along part of the 33 route, are still connected by bus.
