Active Travel Fund

Nottinghamshire County Council has been successful in securing £2.178m from the Government’s Active Travel Fund towards the delivery of several potential cycle and footway improvement schemes across the county and to implement behavioural change measures within these local areas.  An initial consultation on these schemes was undertaken in February/March 2021 and has helped us to further develop the proposals.

Via East Midlands, working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, would now like to invite your views and comments on the current options for the following schemes:

High Pavement, Sutton in Ashfield

The proposed scheme in Sutton in Ashfield will create a two-way cycle route on the south-eastern side of High Pavement, between Station Road and Silk Street, and on the northern side between Langton Road and Mill Street.  The proposed route will comprise both shared use footway/cycleway and dedicated on-road sections.

Regatta Way, West Bridgford

The proposed scheme in West Bridgford will upgrade the existing shared use footway/cycleway facility, between A6011 Radcliffe Road and Adbolton Lane, to provide a fully segregated two-way cycleway.

Randall Way, Retford

The proposed scheme in Retford will create a two-way cycle route on the south-eastern side of Randall Way. The new route will continue onto the north-eastern side of the A638 North Road, ending at a crossing point near Silverdale Close.  The scheme includes upgrading the pedestrian refuge near Silverdale Close to a toucan crossing.
