A second case of avian flu has been detected near Newark.

Nottinghamshire County Council is working with Government agencies to ensure that all safety measures are being put in place and adhered to. 

Once again, the council would like to reiterate that there are no concerns to human health or food safety.   

The case comes after highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) had been confirmed in commercial poultry near Newark on Boxing Day.
