This year will be one I will remember with a great deal of fondness.
I was delighted to be elected as a county councillor in May and deeply honoured when I became Madam Chairman.

It is a role which has already given me memories which will last a lifetime, having met some wonderful and inspiring people and attended some truly fantastic events.

My chosen charity for my year as Madam Chairman is Pulp Friction CIO – a Nottinghamshire organisation dedicated to supporting learning disabled and autistic people to develop their social, independence and work-readiness skills.

I know many of you will be familiar with the fantastic work it does, and I would like to thank everyone who has so kindly joined me in my fundraising efforts to support such a good cause.

It’s been a privilege to attend so many civic engagements across the county especially in this, the 80th anniversary year of VE Day and VJ Day.

As well all know, Nottinghamshire has a rich military history and I was delighted to be a part of the presentation team for our Boots and Beret Awards in September when so many people came together to support the tireless efforts of our Armed Forces community.

I have enjoyed attending so many events, including the Civic Service at Southwell Minster, the official opening of Goose Fair, the Nottinghamshire Lord-Lieutenant Awards and Service of Celebration for the King’s Official Birthday.

It really has been a wonderful first eight months as Madam Chairman and I can’t wait to attend many more civic engagements in 2026.

Finally, I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
