Nottinghamshire residents are being given extra time to share their views on the future of adult social care as the Big Conversation survey has been extended until midday on Monday 13 October.
Throughout the summer a series of Big Conversation listening events were held around the county for those who receive care and support or care for someone who does.
The events were safe and welcoming spaces where residents had the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas, experiences and hopes for the future of adult social care.
People who took part in the survey and listening events said they felt valued and able to share their views and experiences openly, with organisers hearing from a broad range of individuals and groups that the county council hadn’t heard from before.
As a result, the listening events and surveys have generated a wealth of ideas and suggestions for the future development and improvement of adult social care in Nottinghamshire.
Our Voice, a strategic co-production group which meets regularly to consider the changes necessary to further-develop co-production in adult social care, also offered valuable input and insight throughout.
Many people who attended the listening events and completed the survey found them to be engaging and useful, and have said that they would be happy to get involved in further work with adult social care by joining Our Voice to continue sharing their ideas.
Councillor Barry Answer, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care at Nottinghamshire County Council, said:
“The Big Conversation has been a wonderful opportunity for us to listen and find out more about Nottinghamshire residents’ experience of adult social care.
“We’ve been thrilled at the level of engagement, diversity and enthusiasm from those attending the listening events and taking part in the survey to share their views. The feedback we receive from residents plays a vital role in how we shape our new plan for adult social care and ensure that it reflects their needs.
“If you haven’t already, I would encourage you to visit the county council website and complete the survey to share your views and experiences before the closing date on Monday 13 October, and have your say”.
Partners, Think Local Act Personal (TLAP), will analyse the feedback and use this to develop the next adult social care strategy for Nottinghamshire.
