Tour of Britain spectator information

Ahead of the Tour of Britain arriving in Nottinghamshire on Wednesday 6 September, we’ve put together some key information about getting to the start and finish, parking arrangements, road closures and community activities taking place.

Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre

Yes, you can park at Sherwood Forest. The usual £5 parking charge will be in place at the car park.

The riders will set off at 11:15am and the car park will be accessible until from 8am until 10:45am or until the car park reaches full capacity. Please make sure you arrive in plenty of time to park your car BEFORE 10:45am. This will allow the race to start safely and make sure that everyone can enjoy the build up to the start.

The car park will then be closed from 10:45am until 12 noon to ensure the safe departure of the race and accompanying team vehicles. Once the race has started, spectators will be able to enjoy a number of activities on the events’ green’.

A road closure will be in place on Swinecote Road/Church Street (B6034) from 04:00hrs, between the junction with Worksop Road (A616) and Mansfield Road/Ollerton Road (A6075).  Access will only be available for the spectator parking area, which is located in the main car park at Sherwood Forest on Swinecote Road, and is accessed from Worksop Road by a diversion route via Ollerton roundabout. The map below shows the diversion route.

Please note that parking on verges and in laybys on Swinecote Road is not permitted and that any vehicles parking in this way will be removed to ensure the safety of riders and spectators.

In Edwinstowe, the following roads will be closed:
