DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) for voluntary and community sector groups

DBS charges
- Enhanced Checks: £38
- Standard Checks: £18
- Basic Checks: £18
NCC will apply an administration fee as follows:
- Standard / Enhanced Checks for volunteer roles: £5 (exc VAT) when paid by invoice
- Standard / Enhanced Checks for volunteer roles: £3.50 (exc VAT) if paid by debit or credit card
Where the checks is for a role that falls outside of the definition of volunteer
- Standard / Enhanced Checks for non-volunteer roles: £10 (exc VAT) when paid by invoice
- Standard / Enhanced Checks for non-volunteer roles: £8 (exc VAT) if paid by debit or credit card
DBS applications for organisations funded by NCC
All groups in receipt of funding from Nottinghamshire County Council are exempt from any administration fee - this exemption applies to DBS applications for volunteers and employees (paid staff).
Volunteers of NCC funded groups
The DBS do not charge the Disclosure fee if the application is for a volunteer.
Employees of NCC funded groups
There is an £18 fee for Standard Disclosures and £38 for Enhanced Disclosures for employees, Basic Checks can also be provided at a cost of £18. The DBS will invoice the group directly for fees arising from DBS applications for employees.
