Our support offer
Our team of social workers, family workers and welfare rights officers can offer targeted support, general advice and signposting.
Some of the support we offer includes:
- updating Special Guardianship Order (SGO) support plans
- training before and after becoming a kinship carer
- managing family relationships and family time
- challenges around education
- emotional support for young people and carers
- life story work
- guidance around kinship allowances and benefits eligibility
- linking you with local and national support
- referrals, for example holiday funds, furniture, or clothing where eligible
- guidance around legal orders
- support for birth parents in relation to the kinship arrangement
- administrative support
For eligible families, we can also access funding for therapeutic support via the adoption and special guardianship support fund.
