Big Day Out
It's BBC Radio Nottingham's annual Big Day Out, celebrating the history and heritage of Nottingham & Notts. Historic Rufford Abbey is just a few miles from Nottinghamshire's most famous forest. So this weekend, drop in to see some traditional woodcraft skills and living history characters from our 870 years of history.
Friendly local craftsman Gary "The Wobbly Bodger" will be in the park all weekend, demonstrating techniques and showing off his handmade wares. www.thewobblybodger.com
Living History characters in authentic period costume will be around the Abbey demonstrating and chatting to visitors. The kids can join a Roman or a World War One soldier for drill, and watch out for the WWII APR warden.
