School crossing patrols

School crossing patrols help children and adults to cross the road safely on their way to and from school. They are commonly known as "lollipop" people.

There are over 140 patrol sites in Nottinghamshire. They are primarily provided for children aged five to 11, at sites which meet the necessary criteria.

Crossing patrol vacancies

School crossing patrols are paid positions. If you are aged over 18 and are in good health, you could apply for a job in this dedicated team.

We are currently looking for patrols at:

  • Ordsall
  • Sutton-in-Ashfield
  • Toton
  • Radcliffe on Trent
  • Mansfield
  • Southwell
  • East Leake
  • Carlton.

Relief patrols are also needed in all areas to cover a site or group of sites when the regular patrol is off work. This may suit you if you only want occasional work.

To find out more about working as a school crossing patrol or getting a crossing patrol for your child's school, contact our road safety team on telephone 0115 977 4373 or email roadsafety@nottscc.gov.uk.
