Advertising

We use ‘remarketing’ to advertise particular services delivered by Nottinghamshire County Council across the internet, in particular on Facebook and Google's advertising networks. Remarketing will display ads to you based on what parts of the Nottinghamshire County Council website you have viewed, by placing a cookie on your web browser.

If you have enabled Google to associate your web and app browsing history with your Google account, and to use information from your Google account to personalise ads you see on the web, Google will use this information with Google Analytics data to build and define audience lists for cross-device remarketing. In order to support this feature, Google Analytics will collect Google-authenticated identifiers, which are  personal data created by Google, and temporarily join them to Google Analytics data in order to populate audiences.

Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you.

If you do not wish to see ads from Nottinghamshire County Council, you can opt out in the following ways:

  • opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google’s Ad personalisation page.
  • opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative’s consumer opt-out
