Statement of Case and amended Order documentation

On 25 October 2018 Nottinghamshire County Council made:

  • The Nottinghamshire County Council (B684 to A612 Link Road) A6211 Gedling Access Road (Side Roads) Order 2018 ("SRO"); and
  • The Nottinghamshire County Council (Gedling Access Road) Compulsory Purchase Order 2018 ("CPO") (the SRO and CPO together being the “Orders”).

The Orders were made pursuant to the Council's resolution of 16 March 2017. The Orders were submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation on 29 November 2018. The Statement of Case has been prepared on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council ("NCC") in its capacity as acquiring authority pursuant to Rule 7 of the Compulsory Purchase (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 2007 (2007/3617). It is an update to the Statement of Reasons and contains details of the eight statutory objections and one non-statutory objection that have been received to the Orders. The Secretary of State by way of letter date 7 January 2019 has given notice of his intention to call a Public Inquiry to consider the objections to the Order. The Inquiry will commence on 11 June 2019 at 10am. The Inquiry will be held at the St Georges Centre, 91 Victoria Road, Netherfield, Nottingham NG4 2NN.

During the statutory objection period for the orders, in response to comments received, minor changes were made to the CPO Schedule and to SRO Plans 4 and 6. Should the Orders be confirmed, the Secretary of State has agreed that the Orders will be modified accordingly.

A copy of the Statement of Case and other accompanying information may also be seen at all reasonable hours at the offices of the acquiring authority of Nottinghamshire County Council at County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7QP and at the local libraries listed in the Statement of Case.
