Get hands on with history!

Discover the story of Nottinghamshire during World War I and get hands on with history at the Great War Heritage Day at Rufford Abbey Country Park!

11 Nov 2018 marks 100 years since the end of World War I. To commemorate and remember Nottinghamshire’s Great War heroes we’re hosting a Great War Heritage Day at Rufford Abbey Country Park on Wednesday 11 June, 10am – 3pm.

There will be a wide range of demonstrations, storytelling, quizzes, competitions and fascinating displays with artefacts telling the story of life in Nottinghamshire during WWI to enjoy and allow you and your class to step back in time to life during WWI.

Local organisations such as the National Civil War Centre (Newark), National Justice Museum, Women in War, The Queen’s Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum, and many more will also be at the event. So come along with your class and enjoy learning some fascinating local history!

If you would like to discuss bringing your class to this event please contact neil.bettison@nottscc.gov.uk or tel 0115 977 2051.
