Covid-19 vaccination programme: resources for parents

This autumn, all children aged 12 to 15 are being offered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination as part of the school-based Covid-19 vaccination programme.

The Covid-19 vaccination programme in secondary schools will help protect vaccinated children and reduce disruption to face-to-face education this winter.

If you’re a parent, guardian or carer and would like further information about the Covid-19 vaccination programme for children and young people, please take a moment to view the resources available below:

In addition, the Government has published a Covid-19 vaccination guide for children and young people aged 12 to 17. This guide covers information about coronavirus, eligibility, risk of infection, protection from the vaccine, consent, side effects and more. The leaflet is available online, or you can download a PDF version and share it with your children.

The school vaccination programme is being carried out by the School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS).
