The Council declared a climate emergency in May 2021, furthering the commitment to tackle climate change and ensure Nottinghamshire has a greener future. The environment is also a key theme within The Nottinghamshire Plan. We are committed to working towards these goals for all our communities, but especially those where a greener environment would most benefit health and wellbeing.
Councillor Mike Adams, Vice-chairman of the Transport and Environment Committee, has been appointed as Environment Ambassador for the County Council to lead on our ambition to become carbon neutral in all our activities by 2030.
