Not all superheroes wear capes – how you have the power to change the world

As a Board, we are committed to learning and becoming actively anti-racist. As we look ahead to 2021 the development of a new strategy, gives us the opportunity to ensure we can play an active part in Safeguarding adults from all forms of racism and discrimination. Over the coming months, we will utilise the e-bulletin to share information and resources to help us all learn and begin having the right conversations.

In this moving, thoughtful TEDx Talk from campaigner and consultant Nova Reid she implores us to challenge the racism that we see all around us — especially the microaggressions that so often go unchallenged. Racism comes in so many different forms, often violent and deliberate. But there are also forms of racial bias that might not be done with malicious intent — and they can be just as destructive.
