The countdown is on to Linby's Brooke Farm Summer Fun Day
Get the family together for a fun-filled day out on Saturday 29 June at Brooke Farm’s annual Summer Fun Day event.
The fun starts at 10am until 3.30pm with activities for all the family including hook a duck, a coconut shy and football games. There will also be workshops running in glass decorating, paper flower making and children's ceramic painting plus Reiki taster sessions for anyone wishing to sample the ancient Japanese method of healing.
Four-legged family members are not forgotten as there will be a dog show they can enter with rosettes and a trophy to be won, including a category for ‘best fancy dress’ so get those canine costumes ready!
Along with cakes and craft stalls, children’s games and live music it’s sure to be a day to remember. Entry is completely free with some activities carrying a charge.
For refreshments there will be a prosecco and real ale bar along with a café, and the farm shop will be selling an array of plants, food and gift items. Visitors can also pick their own strawberries and gooseberries from £2.90 a kilo.
The farm is run by Nottinghamshire County Council and employs staff with mixed abilities and offers training to people with disabilities.
Councillor Tony Harper, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council’s Adult Social Care and Public Health Committee, said: “Last year’s event went down a storm and we’re hoping for a nice day to attract even more people to this fun family day out.”
The farm shop offers a range of home-grown produce for sale including free range eggs, seasonal vegetables, salad and fruit, flowers and plants along with locally-sourced products such as bread, milk, preserves, pickles, cakes and biscuits.
Produce grown at Brooke farm is sold at the farm shop in Main Street, Linby, open Monday to Thursday 8am to 3.45pm, Friday 8am to 3.15pm and Saturday 8am to 3pm.
