Popular tourist attractions join up with Green Rewards

A trio of popular Nottinghamshire tourist attractions are to offer discounts to people who actively use the Notts Green Rewards app.

From 14 February (Monday), Rufford Abbey Country Park will offer 10% off the price of a hot beverage at the Coachhouse Café to an app user, with Holme Pierrepont Country Park offering 20% off hot drinks at any café on site.

People on a trip to Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve will receive a discount of 20% on a standard hot beverage from the Visitor Centre café, if they show their Green Rewards app along with a Sherwood Arrow bus ticket.

Rufford Abbey Country Park will give visitors, with the app, a 10% discount for boating (from April to October) or adventure golf (throughout the year).

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Environment Ambassador, Councillor Mike Adams, said: “It is great news that we’ve been able to get these three popular tourist attractions involved in such a brilliant initiative as Notts Green Rewards.

“I think it is fitting that the offers are starting in half-term week when plenty of local families will be looking for things to do and places to visit.

“Doing healthy outdoor activities is a great way to show your commitment to improving the local environment and can also help tackle climate change.

“I’d urge people to sign up to the Notts Green Rewards app and take advantage of the fantastic discounts on offer.

“Notts Green Rewards is an important scheme with users really making a difference to the world we live in and must protect.”

Notts Green Rewards was launched in October by nine Nottinghamshire councils. The scheme offers discounts, vouchers and prizes to local people taking action to combat climate change, such as walking, recycling and using public transport.
