Have your say on new proposals as part of the A614 upgrade

03 November 2020

A virtual consultation will give residents the chance to have their say on updated design proposals which form part of a major scheme to upgrade the A614 and A6097 corridor.

The consultation will focus on the redesigned layout for the A612/A6097 Lowdham roundabout as well as new proposals for improvement works at the A6097/Kirk Hill junction in East Bridgford.

Restrictions due to COVID-19 mean that public consultation events will be replaced with two virtual consultation rooms where residents can view the revised proposals and scheme drawings before having their say.

The virtual consultation rooms will be available from 2- 22 November 2020 and can be accessed by visiting: https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/a614

Councillor John Cottee, Chairman of the Communities and Place Committee at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “In 2018, the Secretary of Transport announced that £18m of funding would be allocated to the Council for a major scheme to improve the road network along the A614 and A6097 corridor between Ollerton and Lowdham.

“Last summer we held six consultation events to invite the Nottinghamshire public to have their say on the proposals, and overall, there was significant support for the proposed measures, particularly those in Ollerton and Bilsthorpe.

“The initial design of the roundabout in Lowdham was not well received, and after reviewing the numerous responses and considering feedback, we have been working closely with Via East Midlands Ltd to reconfigure the design.

“From Monday 2 November, residents will be able to have their say on the new design, as well as a new proposal for works on the A6097 in East Bridgford, and we look forward to receiving the feedback once the consultation closes.”
