Chairman's engagements this week mark St George's Day and Workers' Memorial Day
Nottinghamshire County Council Chairman, Coun Mrs Sue Saddington, will be attending a number of services of special significance this week.
On Friday 26 April, Councillor Saddington will be attending the Workers’ Memorial Day Service at St Mary’s Church in the Lace Market in Nottingham to join in the international day of remembrance for people who have been killed, disabled, injured or made unwell by their work. The annual service is organised by UNISON and the Memorial Workers’ Day helps to highlight the preventable nature of most workplace incidents and ill health.
Later that evening, the Chairman will attend the Mayor of Newark’s Charity St George’s Day dinner at Newark Town Hall.
On Saturday 27 April, the Chairman will attend the Annual St George’s Day Service, Parade and Renewal of Promises for Scouts and Guides at Southwell Minster. The event is for young people from the Central Notts Scout District and the Daybrook, Southwell and Westdale Guide divisions.
On Sunday 28 April, Councillor Saddington will attend the Newark Civic Service at All Saint’s Church in Elston, Newark.
The week's events will be concluded with a St George's Day Service and Parade for Rushcliffe District Scouts at Nottingham Forest Football Ground, West Bridgford, in the afternoon.
